It's a WRAP!

2025 is a wrap, the books are closed, it was a great year. Thank
you to all of my customers and service providers. It is my
pleasure to work with you all.
2026 will continue to bring challenges for those looking to lease
or buy cars. The fact remains that leasing still tends to make a
lot of sense, unless you plan to keep your car for at least 7
years. Whether leasing or buying, the sales process at
dealerships continues to be less than transparent. I have even
experienced it. But that hasn’t inhibited me whatsoever in
getting the best deals for my customers.
On a lighter note, since leaving my life at a dealership, I made a
commitment to use some of my newly found free time to
volunteer and give back to my little town of Nyack. For
example, two years ago, I began handing out donated food to
local food pantries. More or less weekly, I and my fellow
volunteers show up at the Rockland Boulders’ stadium parking
lot where around 20 vans, cars, and trucks from the pantries
start lining up at 7:30 a.m. We pack trays and bags and boxes
of grocery, produce, protein and dairy into those vehicles until
all the food is distributed. This past holiday season, I doubled
down and worked some 12 hour shifts. Turkeys, cranberry
sauce, various desserts, and an assortment of other foods were
loaded into individual cars from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
Same location but more focused on direct-to-family
distribution. I left each of my “shifts” feeling very satisfied that I
was doing good and, in some cases, with tears in my eyes
In between these days at the stadium, I spent some time sitting
next to Larry (a true hero) as we drove a refrigerated truck to
various food retailers. We loaded up 10,000 pounds of donated
food. Vegetables, bakery items, groceries and even protein
items. If you ever think that you may be in great physical shape,
I have a new challenge for you! Anyway, back to my story…
those 10,000 pounds were delivered to food pantries
throughout Rockland County, mostly picked up and unloaded
on the same day.
Feeding those who don’t know when or where their next meal
will be served may be the best use of my spare time. I frankly
don’t know why it took me so long.
Thank you, for retirement from retail.
